Every Ribbon Tells A Story (ERTAS) provides transportation services to uninsured and under insured individual(s) in Galveston County needing assistance getting to and from their medical appointments. This service is a crucial resource for individuals who have limited transportation options and would like to arrive at their destination in comfort and with ease.
What do I need to know about the Transportation Services if I want to use the service?
Participants must be a resident of Galveston County.
Transportation is available Monday through Friday; times vary depending on appointment times.
The program operates by advance reservation; must be scheduled 7 days in advance of appointment.
Door-to-door service is available; each trip is round trip, to and from appointment only.
Vehicles are unable to accommodate wheelchairs.
No children or passenger(s) requiring a car or booster seat can be accommodated.
All types of medical appointments are accepted, including physical therapy, mental health, and medical testing.
Spouses and/or care takers are allowed to ride.
A confirmation call and/o email will be made/sent 3 days and 1 day before scheduled pick-up with pick-up time.
Requester should be ready for pick-up with the 30 minute timeframe given.
ERTAS Driver cannot accompany Requester to appointment; driver is able to assist with getting in/out pick-up address and appointment facility.
If the Requester should need to cancel, ensure it is done by 5:00pm the day before scheduled pick-up.
ERTAS reserves the right to provide this service at its sole discretion.
